Introduction. Oh yeah.

So I have this idea.
I want to make a book. A photobook. I want you to help me make this photo book.
That is, if you are under the age of 25 and have lived/currently live in 805-area code region  of central California.

That's this place:

That little booger-colored, booger-shaped region. That's our 805, home to dozens of unique cities and lifestyles. But if you're reading this, chances are you already know that.

So why make a youth-organized, youth-photography book of the 805? Well, think about it. There's a lot of diversity located within those 3 numbers. In just an hour's drive, you can pass through stretches of agriculture, beach front getaways, college campuses, and urban shopping districts. The fact that all of these places are inhabited is interesting enough. And every inhabitant on our small edge of the state has a story to tell, a picture to show.

We always see books of professional photography lining the shelves of giftshops and waiting rooms. How cool would it be to see a book of young 805-ers, the youth, coming together to create a photo book of our experience here, sharing our little slice of central coast history?

Basically, we will gather funding to produce as many copies of the book (The 805) as possible, and disperse them. Meanwhile, we will also be collecting photos, submitted digitally, to put in the book. That's a bridge to cross later though. The important thing for now is to

SPREAD. THE. WORD.

Follow this blog for updates on the production. Send the link to any friends you know that might want to submit a photo or help financially.

Get stoked.
